Description

In the late 1990s, U.G. Krishnamurti met with a variety of spiritual seekers, self-styled gurus, teachers and just ordinary people from all over the world. The collection of nineteen interviews presented in this DVD offers the viewer a unique look into UG's insights into life and living. They have been edited in Mumbai, India in 2009.

"Thought is self-protecting and fascist in nature, and it will use every trick under the sun to give momentum to its own continuity. Thought controls, moulds and shapes our ideas and actions. Thought is not the instrument to help us live in harmony with life around us. That is why we create all these ecological problems such as pollution, possibly destroying ourselves with the most destructive weapons that we have invented." -- U.G. Krishnamurti

This one hour fifty minute DVD, compiled from the original videotapes, has now been enhanced and color-corrected. This DVD gives one a clear and disturbing picture of this man's insights into life and living. He brought into question the whole of human thought.

Watching "The Best of UG" is to sit by the powder keg of UG and be witness to an explosive fire that shatters beliefs, that exposes as myths the virtues that mankind worships and holds as true.

Norse Mythology Norse Mythology
Gaiman, Neil
W.W. Norton & Co. Inc.

Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales.

In Norse Mythology, Gaiman stays true to the myths in envisioning the major Norse pantheon: Odin, the highest of the high, wise, daring, and cunning; Thor, Odin's son, incredibly strong yet not the wisest of gods; and Loki--son of a giant--blood brother to Odin and a trick...

The Voynich Manuscript The Voynich Manuscript
Clemens, Raymond
Yale University Press

Many call the fifteenth-century codex, commonly known as the Voynich Manuscript, the world s most mysterious book. Written in an unknown script by an unknown author, the manuscript has no clearer purpose now than when it was rediscovered in 1912 by rare books dealer Wilfrid Voynich. The manuscript appears and disappears throughout history, from the library of the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II to a secret sale of books in 1903 by the Society of Jesus in Rome. The book s language has eluded deciphe...
