Astrological Optics: Natal Astrology (New)
by Angelus, Johannes
Publisher: Renaissance Astrology
Book ID: RAST6, RAST6
Usually available in 1-2 weeks
Johannes Angelus' Astrological Optics, published in 1655, is a fascinating look at traditional natal astrology. What is most interesting about it is the listing of images for each of the 360 degrees of the Zodiac. In the 9th degree of Libra, for example, the image is a man holding a sword over his head in his right hand. "It signifies a litigious person." - Astrological Optics at 33. By comparing the degree rising in a natal chart we can get useful information about the person and their character. However, this 360 degree listing has an even more enthralling use, as the basis for personalized talismans. By using these degree images we can personalize and focus a talisman to a very degree of a person's natal chart. Fantastic!
Astrological Optics also provides a complete description of the meaning of each of the 7 planets in the 12 houses and the 12 signs, plus the aspects of each planet with Mercury and the meaning of the Ascendant in each of the 12 signs. But don't take my word for it -- Astrological Optics comes highly recommended by the master astrologer, William Lilly!
