"Introductions to the Ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff" is a collection of public talks of John Pentland given on the East and West Coasts of the U.S. starting in the 1950s. Questions from the audience are included.
These talks will be valuable to newcomers, to those familiar with the ideas and practice of the Gurdjieff teaching, and to others who seek something new in their lives. Lord Pentland speaks of the work from a perspective that is at once subtle, original and contemporary, and represents an introduction on many levels.
John Pentland (1907-1984) was a student of G.I. Gurdjieff and P.D. Ouspensky, and worked closely with Madame Jeanne de Salzmann. He was President of the Gurdjieff Foundation of New York from its inception in 1953 up until his death in 1984, and also established the Gurdjieff Foundation of California. He was instrumental in spreading the Gurdjieff Work in the United States.
