Runes are an ancient system of divination from the Norse. These symbols started out as an alphabet and were then used for insight and prediction. This deck of flash cards was developed to use as a study tool for learning rune casting. There are twenty-five runes in a set, usually made of stone, clay, or wood. This deck has fifty flash cards, half of the cards feature the rune symbol on the front and description on the back. The other twenty-five cards have the rune name on the front and the symbol on the back for quizzing.
Each description card is double-sided with the glyph on the card face and the information on the back. The card descriptions for the Runes includes name, letter in the alphabet, pronunciation, theme, keywords, uses for magickal working, key phrases and reversed phrases where applicable.
In this deck there are the traditional twenty-four Runes plus the modern addition of the Rune “Wyrd”. Several informational cards come with the deck that include topics on how to use the deck, History and Origins of the Runes, Understanding the Runes, Rune Casting, and Layouts. The total number of cards in the Runes deck is 55.
