Alchemical Essays (Used)
by Mack, Ross
Publisher: Salamander and Sons
Book ID: 9780980409918, 0980409918
Alchemical Essays succinctly encapsulates the wisdom of the Hermetic Adepts, exploring the interface between alchemy, science, spagyrics, and archemy. In his first publication on the Great Work, Australian doctor, scientist, antiquarian, and operative alchemist, Ross Mack, translates and equates that contained within classical alchemical literature with the latest findings of the physical, chemical and cosmological branches of science. From DNA, dark energy, dark matter, and superconductors to Philosophical Mercury, Basil Valentine's Currus Triumphalis Antimonii, bhasma medicines, and the Smaragdine Table of Hermes Trismegistus, Dr. Mack generously shares the fruits of a lifetime devoted to enquiry and the pursuit of the good path. As Paul Hardacre says in his preface, Dr. Mack "... purports that science is edging closer to understanding Nature, and that the essential, yet missing, components of understanding are to be found within the philosophia perennis et universalis ... that the understanding which has eluded many of the greatest scientific minds throughout recorded history has been known by alchemists for a very long time." Visionary, revelatory and complemented by full colour plates, Alchemical Essays is a sincere, practical and thoughtprovoking treasure for readers "with a desire to search everywhere and to learn everything."
Dr. Ross Mack is an operative alchemist with more than 30 years of experience. His personal pursuit of alchemy has driven him through several academic degrees, including osteopathy, medicine, natural medicine, herbal medicine, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, and seven years of alchemical studies with Frater Albertus Spagyricus, in both Salt Lake City and Australia. Throughout his years of study, he has worked alongside and been assisted, inspired and guided by Art Kunkin, Dr. Wilson Wheatcroft, the late Hans Nintzel, the siddha yogi Swami Muktananda, Artofferus (who began teaching after the death of Frater Albertus in 1984), and Robert Young (a lifelong friend, coresearcher and head teacher of both Masonic and Rosicrucian schools in Sydney), among others. In recent years, via his antiquarian bookshop, Archives Fine Books, in Brisbane, Australia, he has acquired numerous rare alchemical books and manuscripts. Alchemical Essays is his first publication on the Great Work. In coming years, he plans more books on the parallels between alchemy and modern science.
The House of Owls
Yale University Press
For a quarter century, Tony Angell and his family shared the remarkable experience of closely observing pairs of western screech owls that occupied a nesting box outside their forest home. Angell s extensive illustrations show owls engaged in what owls do hunting, courting, raising families, and exercisi...More

Another key element of its ritual, the elaborate Seal of God, has been found in texts and amulets throughout Europe.
Interest in The Sworn Book of Honorius has grown in recent years, yet no modern translations have been attemptedunt...
