Free Thoughts Concerning Religion, Boston: Bela Marsh 1858, third edition, 38pp plus publ's list (repeated). History & Philosophy of Evil, Boston: Bela Marsh 1858, first edition, 118pp, last blanks covered with new clippings. All crudely bound together in contemporary flexible leather, stitched, last leaves (with clippings) edge-worn, some waterstaining throughout, occasional foxing, a good copy, sturdy and complete. Davis had a habit of revising his books in the early years and his first five or six titles went through many revisions, all now rare.
