The Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita (Used)
by Prem, Sri Krishna
Publisher: Morning Light Press
Book ID: 9781596750241, 1596750243
The Bhagavad-Gita is one of the world's greatest spiritual testaments, inspiring countless seekers in both East and West for over a thousand years. Here, Sri Krishna Prem, a Western-born Hindu master, opens the practical teaching of the Gita in language that directly penetrates the intellect and the heart of modern readers. Step by step, he reveals the Gita's sacred path to the perfect poise and harmony destined for each Soul.
Precisely because of the great importance of the Bhagavad Gita in the Hindu tradition, all the philosophic teachers (acharyas) are obliged to write commentaries on it. In these commentaries they feel called to read the Gita in a way that justifies their own philosophic position, or that of their school. The result is often a forced interpretation of many verses, giving these commentaries a sectarian flavor. This is well and good for winning intellectual arguments against those who have different intellectual points of view, but it does not help wayfarers along the path to find the Truth which by definition is beyond all sectarian considerations.
Krishna Prem is not interested in justifying one or another philosophical system. Nor does he have much patience for the historical or anthropological approach of many commentators, often from the West. His approach to the Bhagavad Gita, as is suggested by the title of the book, brings out the yoga expounded in the Gita. By yoga he understands, not any specific set of practices, but the entire path which a searcher must tread in order to come to the Truth.

Another key element of its ritual, the elaborate Seal of God, has been found in texts and amulets throughout Europe.
Interest in The Sworn Book of Honorius has grown in recent years, yet no modern translations have been attemptedunt...
